From the CACP President
On behalf of the CACP Board of Directors and National Office staff, I look forward to welcoming you and your families to Montreal for the 112th Annual Conference of the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police scheduled from July 16-19, 2017. The Montreal Police Service, supported by the CACP National Office and the CACP Information Communication and Technology Committee are working hard to ensure that the professional development sessions will be valuable and meaningful to you, and that the social events provide plenty of opportunity for you to connect with colleagues and friends and enjoy all that Montreal offers.

Our conference theme this year is Policing in a Digital Society – Risks and Opportunities. Professional development sessions will focus on facing and managing disruptive change, building trust by communicating with the community, creating organizational resiliency and making good decisions for policing the digital society, the imperative to create technology advantages for policing, and creating an action plan for chiefs. In addition to addressing the theme of our conference sessions will also focus on topics you have told us are important to you, including Evidence Based Research, and Cyber Security. We also have the opportunity to recognize many police personnel through the issuing of eight awards.

Our 2017 conference promises to stimulate discussion and inspire action.I encourage you and your senior leaders to join with other policing leaders from across the country to share, learn, and work together to provide safety and security for all Canadians through innovative police leadership.
